I feel optimistic now that I’ve started winning awards and attribute winning them to the training and resources that APEX has shared with me. The experts at APEX are very knowledgeable and impressive. I hope these awards will lead to a long-term contract soon.
~ Michelle Wilson
Battery Alliance, a family-owned Collierville, TN battery distributor founded in 1996, was recently awarded several contracts to provide UPS batteries to the United States Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).
Michelle Wilson, President of Battery Alliance, was introduced to the Tennessee APEX Accelerator as she began to pursue opportunities to sell her products in the government marketspace. Since that time, she has taken advantage of many of the services the APEX Accelerator offers, from one-on-one counseling to general workshops and trainings to specialized training opportunities for clients who are working with packaging, labeling and shipping to government agencies.
Battery Alliance’s experience is a reminder that success in government contracting isn’t always about immediate wins – sometimes it’s about steady progress, resilience, and a can-do mindset. In fact, after an early win or two, it took time and persistence to see the hard work pay off.
Michelle says, “The APEX team has helped me with my capability statement, job boards, certifications, finding contract opportunities and more. If she doesn’t know the answer, she puts me in touch with experts in the industry who have been immensely knowledgeable and helpful.”
According to West Tennessee APEX Accelerator counselor Veronica Clark, “Michelle exemplifies what it means to leverage APEX services for sustained business growth. She shows up with a willingness to learn, adapt and take the necessary steps toward her goals. Whether facing setbacks or navigating unfamiliar requirements, Michelle always remains engaged and motivated.”
